Back when I first discovered the Burdastyle website, I was really keen to try out their sewing pattern-sharing program so I created the
Cheeky Panties. The pattern is fairly simple but at the time I never graded it into sizes other than my own, because I was just too fragged frankly :o) I put out a little plea that perhaps someone else, in the spirit of open-source fashion, might take it upon themselves to grade. It has been a pretty popular pattern- something like fifteen-thousand people have downloaded it, which boggles my mind- and I love it whenever anyone contacts me to tell me they've made some, but I get a little stab of guilt every time I read a comment from someone lamenting they'd love to make a pair too but the size is wrong for them.
Now she's emphasising that at this stage it's a work-in-progress, and has asked for feedback so she can tweak where necessary. I'd say she's pretty well got the grading thing down though, seeing as she's a proper professional designer and everything. Still, maybe initially make them out of a scrappy-bit of knit fabric- which is always a good idea for practice anyway.
Hehehehehe I didn't notice it till now but I got my print upside-down when I made these! And gawd, Ms Dressform is a bit grubby-looking, isn't she!
